Do Disney Cruises Ever Go On Sale?

Do Disney Cruises ever go on sale? The answer is a bit of both—yes and no...

Ahead, there are new destinations, amazing meals, character meet-and-greets, Broadway-style shows, and moments designed to make you smile. Think endless ice cream, sunny poolside fun, and pure joy at every turn. Get ready for the vacation of a lifetime, with a sprinkle of Disney magic. Welcome aboard Disney Cruise Line!

Me and my pal, Mickey Mouse

Even if you're not a big Disney fan or traveling with kids, Disney cruises are great for anyone wanting to relax and explore new places. Honestly, I’m more of a “Disney adult” (I know, cringe) than my husband. But by the end of our cruise, we were both ready to book the next one!

Let's be honest- a Disney Cruise probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think "affordable." Travel can get expensive, especially with a premium line like Disney. But the experience is unique—thanks to top-notch service, attention to detail, and immersive storytelling. Plus, with everything included, you can say "yes" to endless ice cream and relaxing by the pool all day.

All This Included!

Disney Cruises may not be the cheapest, but they offer a unique experience that many families find worth the cost. It's more than just a cruise—it's like being in a Disney movie. With top-notch service, entertainment, character meet-and-greets, and themed dining, everything is designed to create a magical atmosphere.

One of the best parts is that everything is included—no hidden fees for activities, meals, or entertainment (except for extras like spa treatments or excursions). Parents can relax in adult exclusive areas while kids enjoy age-appropriate programs in the kids clubs.

It’s can be an investment, but for many families, it’s an unforgettable vacation that makes the cost worth it. And did I mention Disney characters? There are so many to see and meet—definitely a highlight for me! There’s even a Pirate Night where the characters dress up as pirates. Just look at Stitch with his little eye patch!

Finding Disney Cruise Deals

That said, did you know you can score some great deals on a Disney Cruise? It helps to have an experienced travel planner so you don’t miss out. Want a personalized quote? Just click HERE! Keep reading for my best tips that I personally use when planning cruises.

Sailor Pluto is the cutest!

Let's discuss the offers that come up during the year, especially when new sailings are announced. Pricing is based on supply and demand, so when new cruises open up and rooms are still available, it's the best time to snag early booking deals. It can be a busy time, but don't worry—your travel planner will handle everything for you! You might be wondering, though, how will you know when those dates are released?

Loyalty Matters

That’s exactly what we’re here for! Generally, booking for Disney cruises opens about 12-18 months in advance, though it can be earlier depending on your Castaway Club AKA your Disney Cruise loyalty status—just one more reason to keep sailing with Disney Cruise Line. As the sailing date approaches, inventory becomes more limited and prices tend to rise, except for certain special room categories, which I’ll cover later in this article.

Speaking of returning guests, did you know you can secure a placeholder while onboard with minimal risk and get 10% off your next qualifying cruise? See? Loyalty really pays off!

Choose the Right Stateroom

There are also staterooms available with some restrictions on select sailings. Here's how it works: you agree to let the cruise line choose your room location within your preferred category. These "guaranteed" rooms require full payment at the time of booking, so if you're looking to pay a lower deposit and make payments over time, this may not be the best option for you.

If you're prone to motion sickness, it's important to know that some room locations are better than others at minimizing movement. These guaranteed rooms may not be ideal if you need a specific location, such as one that's low and midship, or if you want connecting rooms for your travel party. Additionally, when booking ocean view rooms or rooms with verandahs, there’s a possibility of obstructed views in some guaranteed rooms. Keep these factors in mind when making your decision.

Let’s dive into room categories! On DCL, you’ll find a range of options: Interior Rooms, Oceanview Rooms, Verandahs, and Concierge. Generally, Interior Rooms offer the best pricing, but this can vary depending on availability. Other factors that influence pricing include the departure port, ship, itinerary, cruise dates, and duration. All of these play a role in determining the overall cost of your cruise!

Special Rates

Disney occasionally offers special promotional deals, though these are limited and not very frequent. However, there are occasional offers that pop up, so it's a good idea to let your travel planner know if you're a member of the military, a Florida resident, or eligible for any other promotions. For example, Disney recently introduced an exciting offer for Disney+ subscribers, allowing them to save on the 3rd and 4th guests. Additionally, for select sailings and for a limited time, you can save 50% on required deposits!
